Nestled within a rainforest and surrounded by snow-capped mountains, the oasis of Villa Amengual is one of the smallest villages on the Bicycle Patagonia Tour.  The village sits on the banks of Río Travieso (a tributary of the powerful Río Cisnes) and offers warm food, a well-stocked grocery store and buena onda (good vibes).

The village serves as a base camp for exploring not only Parque Nacional Queulat, but Cerro Elefante, Alto Nevado, and Reserva Nacional Lago Las Torres too. Despite services being limited here, the tiny village is a perfect place to stop for lunch (try the bus restaurant, Melinda Sandwich), groceries, or simply a cat-nap before continuing on your Patagonian adventure.
